Cape Flattery
Cape Flattery Trail

With the recently renovated Cape Flattery trail, hikers can now enjoy the northwesternmost point of the contiguous United States first-hand. From the new lookout at the end of the trail, visitors can watch the ocean waves lapping along the shores of Tatoosh Island - a former Makah fishing and whaling camp. The trail is also home to the historic Cape Flattery Lighthouse. Walk along the 3/4-mile of groomed earthen trail, cedar boardwalk and cross bridges that span across the wetlands. The 20 to 30 minute hike is well worth the breath-taking views that greet hikers at the end. Relax among five observation perches with cedar decks and guardrails and be rewarded with a glimpse of otters, sea lions, seals, puffin and whales or any of the 250 species of birds that live along this beautiful Northwest coastline.
