Welcome to Washington's Olympic Peninsula

Tourism Enhancement Grant Program

The Olympic Peninsula Visitor Bureau (OPVB) has funds available for investment in Tourism Enhancement projects/events and activities for each calendar year.

CLALLAM COUNTY TOURISM ENHANCEMENT GRANTS AVAILABLE

In an effort to enhance long-term economic growth through tourism, the Olympic Peninsula Visitor Bureau distributes funds through a grant program for investment in tourism enhancement projects.  In order to facilitate as many projects/events as possible, grant funding usually will not exceed $5000 per project/event.  The Clallam County Tourism Enhancement Fund is designed to encourage tourism-related projects/events in Clallam County that attract overnight destination guests.

The Tourism Enhancement Fund dollars come from revenue generated by the 2 percent hotel/motel tax on lodging facilities in Clallam County.  Any organization that includes tourism marketing and/or development among its major activities may apply for funds under this program.  As indicated by the Washington State Legislature these funds are to be used primarily for paying for tourist promotion and for the acquisition and/or maintenance of tourism-related facilities.

Grant applications are reviewed at the January, March, May, September and November, OPVB Board of Directors meetings.  Grant applications must be submitted for consideration by the first day of the month prior to a scheduled review meeting, usually the third Thursday of the month.

Organizations submitting proposals late in the funding year are encouraged to confirm with the OPVB that funds are available before submitting application.  Handwritten proposals or proposals submitted by electronic media such as facsimile or e-mail will not be accepted.
